TAX
NOTE...
To
receive a tax deduction, you will need proper documentation
when filing your income tax returns. Print and maintain a
copy of your donation transaction receipts. Depending on the
amount or type of your gift, you may need to provide
additional documents with your tax form, such as Form 8283
for each non-cash donation exceeding $500.
The Cherokee Child
Advocacy Council, Inc. is a child abuse prevention
agency. Three children die each day in the
United States because of abuse and neglect.
If we are to break the cycle of abuse, we must
focus on prevention as well as intervention.
For every dollar
spent on prevention, we can save seven dollars in
intervention costs. The Council's mission is
the prevention of child abuse and neglect in all
its forms. To that end, the Council has been
diligent in working with the community to prevent
child abuse before it occurs.
It will take all of
us working together to make that happen! If
you would like to join us in our efforts, please
consider becoming a supporter. Your tax
deductible donation will ensure that the work of
the Council continues to benefit the children and
families of Cherokee County. Call us at
770-345-8100 or email us at help@cherokeechildadvocates.org
to make a monetary of material donation.
The Council
is using technology to make it easier for donors
to help in specific ways. To that end, we
are using the registry programs at Target and
Wal-Mart and maintaining an ongoing list of items
to support our programs. Naturally, we will
still be accepting monetary donations; however,
some families and organizations wish to give
specific items. The wish lists can be located in
the following ways:
Go
to www.target.com
and click on TargetLists. Once there,
click on Find a List, and then Search by
organization. Enter our name: Cherokee
Child Advocacy Council, Inc. The
"Children's List" will come up and
you can scroll down to the items.
Follow the directions to make your purchases
and they will be shipped to us with your
gift notice.
Go
to www.walmart.com.
In the top right corner of the page click on
Wish List. Enter Cherokee C in the
space for First Name, and Advocacy C in the
space for Last Name. Click Find, and
then under Registrant click on our name
Cherokee Child Advocacy Council. The
list will appear; scroll down to the
items. Follow the directions to make
your purchases and they will be shipped to
us with your gift notice.
Both
Target and Wal-Mart will
also allow you to purchase a Gift Card if you would
prefer, and as we mentioned, we continue to accept
donations. The value of your gift remains
tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by
law.
Go to www.benevolink.com
and become a member. When you shop,
retailers contribute a percentage of every
dollar spent into your individual Benevolink
account. Four times a year, you can
give your earned cash donations, plus add
personal funds via credit card or volunteer.
