Parents HELP (Helping Each other Learn Parenting) is designed to assist parents with the skills necessary to have a healthy, happy relationship with their children. It aims to educate parents on the use of positive communication skills, effective age-appropriate discipline, and how to identify, understand and guide their children through the developmental stages. The program also helps to empower parents to secure resources within their community.
One of the services provided by Parents HELP is the In-Home Parent Education component. A Parent Mentor goes into the home and works with the family on parenting issues that they may be experiencing. The Parent Mentor meets with the family once a week to assist them with their parenting needs.
