The Anna Crawford Children's Center provides a
child-friendly facility where children who have
disclosed abuse can come for investigation and
therapy. The Center facilitates a multi-disciplinary team
approach for the investigation
and treatment of child abuse cases.
The approach reduces the trauma to the child and
non-offending family members while it enhances
the investigation process. This limits the
times a child has to talk about the abuse with
members of the multi-disciplinary team members
Children
and their non-offending caregivers are provided
resources they will need to help them begin the
healing process. Therapy is provided for the
children and support groups are offered for the
non-offending parents and caregivers. Child
abuse can be traumatic, but having access to
these important services allows for a reduction
in the trauma and more rapid healing from that
trauma. |
